Rocks tumble onto busy California Interstate 80 on busy Sierra Nevada Corridor narrowly missing cars

TRUCKEE, CA — A rockslide disrupted traffic on Interstate 80 westbound just west of Farad on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol – Truckee division. The incident occurred around 4:25 p.m. when a large rock tumbled into the roadway, triggering a traffic collision. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Emergency crews quickly responded and established one-way traffic control. Westbound lanes are reduced to a single lane as cleanup continues, leading to significant delays for drivers traveling through the Sierra Nevada corridor.
