The “Walk-Off Wolf Pack” did it again Sunday. This time it was only slightly less dramatic because of the run-rule, but Sean Yamaguchi’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh still brought a roar from the faithful as Nevada closed its 2025 home slate and captured the series with San Diego State with an 11-1, seven-inning win.
The win, combined with Sunday losses by Fresno State and New Mexico, not only clinched for Nevada (31-20, 17-10 MW) a top-two seed and a bye into the double-elimination part of May 21-24’s Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship, but it also put the Wolf Pack into the driver’s seat for the conference regular-season title. Nevada enters next week’s final three games a game ahead of both the Bulldogs and Lobos.
