The Road Ahead: Two South Reno Roads Set for Reconstruction

SPONSORED: Construction will begin on two major roads in south Reno in the coming weeks. Arrowcreek Parkway and Wedge Parkway will undergo full depth roadway reconstruction, the replacement of curb, gutter and sidewalks, and the improvement of select pedestrian ramps for accessibility. The RTC will build a 10-foot multiuse path along the east side of Wedge Parkway, improve bike lane markings and the drainage system, and extend the existing left turn lane from Wedge Parkway onto Mt. Rose Highway.

“Arrowcreek and Wedge were built approximately 30 years ago and anyone who has driven down there knows how worn the roads are,” Amanda Callegari, RTC Engineering Manager said. “We have used pavement preservation techniques on both segments over the years to extend the life of the pavement, but now they are in a state of disrepair and in need of full reconstruction.”

The project limits on Arrowcreek Parkway are between Thomas Creek Rd. to the east of Wedge Pkwy. The reconstruction will happen on Wedge Pkwy. between Mt. Rose Highway and Whites Creek Lane…
