The National Automobile Museum, known for its extensive collection of historic vehicles, has completed a $4 million renovation aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. The museum, which opened in 1989 with 175 automobiles and now houses over 240 vehicles, has undergone a comprehensive modernization to address the evolving needs of its visitors.
Key improvements include upgraded galleries for a more immersive experience, a new banquet area, two outdoor patios, and a flexible rotating exhibits gallery. A standout addition is the $1.4 million interactive Children’s Activity Center, designed to educate children on automobile fundamentals through hands-on learning.
However, the expansion has led to reduced gallery space, prompting the museum to de-accession and auction 60 to 80 vehicles.
