NEW, 472-MILE, TRAIL OPENS THROUGH NEVADA

The Battle Born Trail is not necessarily new and it doesn’t actually cross the state, but the freshly mapped route put together by the Nevada Offroad Association is ready to help with your next adventure.

Starting in Pahrump, the remote, off road route, explores some of the famous sites and landmarks along the lower western state border before ending 472-miles later up in Virginia City just outside of the capital.

Most of the trail runs at an elevation between 4000-6000 feet so don’t let the hotter temperatures deter you. However, keep in mind, the trail does travel to over 9000 feet in elevation, so go prepared anytime of year.

But the beauty of this route, is that staging areas, fuel stops, lodging and other services are all mapped out for you. Plus, you can download the GPX or KML files to view in any navigation unit like Ride Command, oNX or Garmin. This first section of the Battle Born Trail is very reminiscent of the early days of the Arizona Peace Trail.

Those familiar with Best In The Desert’s Vegas to Reno or the recent Legacy Nevada 1000, will know the area along Highway 95, but not this exact route. While some of the mountain dirt roads and power line access trails used in the races are also used on this route but most of the path has not been raced on…
