For more than a century, Reno Elks Lodge #597 has weathered disasters and changing times while continuing to support veterans, children, and families across Northern Nevada.
Founded in 1899, Reno Elks Lodge #597 is the city’s oldest service organization and has remained active through floods, fire, and relocation.
The Lodge has become known for its wide-ranging efforts in areas such as youth development, veteran support, hunger relief, and civic events.
The Lodge’s original building survived two Truckee River floods and a small fire between 1904 and 1957, before being destroyed in a major explosion and fire in 1957.
It was rebuilt at its current location by 1961, where it still stands today.
