As temperatures climb, Nevada OSHA new heat safety regulations in effect

RENO, Nev. — Now that the Reno area has made its way into the 100-degree heat territory, new regulations from Nevada’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are in full effect.

The new standards require businesses with more than 10 employees to conduct a hazard analysis of potential exposure to heat illness.

“Those are the things that employers are required to do. They should have all of that in place now that we are in the hot summer months,” Administrator of the Division of Industrial Relations for Nevada OSHA Victoria Carreon said…
