RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – As the temperatures rise, there is an alarming result in more reports of domestic violence.
Leslie Berg with Safe Embrace came by Morning Break to talk about the link to hot temperatures.
There are three factors Berg talks about. First, heat is uncomfortable. The physical aspect of just being hot and being more irritable. Next, the financial burden of staying cool can contribute to financial abuse. Lastly, people get out and socialize and go to events, and there is an increase in substance use and alcohol use that can lead to domestic violence…
