Heat advisory issued for parts of northern Nevada amid soaring temperatures

RENO, Nev. — The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a heat advisory for parts of northern Nevada and California, warning of dangerously high temperatures through Wednesday morning.

The advisory, which remains in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, affects areas including Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties and Surprise Valley in California, as well as Northern Washoe County, the Western Nevada Basin and Range, the Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area, and Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties in Nevada.
