Reno Gleaning Project taking fruit picking requests

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -This year’s weather has impacted the local fruit crop in the Truckee Meadows.

Just ask the founder of the Reno Gleaning Project.

“It’s been a very early year. We actually started picking in June this year,” says Pamela Zamora. “We are about a month ahead of schedule on all fruit. So surprisingly we don’t pick apples until September or October time frame. We are already picking the early apples. They are ready.”…
