City of Reno installs pedestrian safety beacon on 7th

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The City of Reno has installed a pedestrian safety beacon on West 7th Street, east of McCarran Blvd.

Once activated, the beacon flashes yellow and red lights, alerting drivers to a pedestrian who can then cross safely.

The location was identified as high risk due to heavy traffic, high speeds, and a lane merge that creates challenging conditions for pedestrians. More than 50 pedestrians cross that street a day…
