Reno and Washoe County offer sandbags ahead of incoming storms

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – With heavy rain in the forecast, both the City of Reno and Washoe County are making sandbags available to help residents prepare for possible flooding.

City crews are inspecting drains, clearing debris and monitoring problem spots. Officials are also asking homeowners to take steps around their properties.

“Everyone knows their facility best—your home, your business,” said Ryan Bird, City of Reno Public Works Director. “If in the last five or ten years you’ve had little issues on your property, it might be a good idea to readdress those areas.”…
