Burners deal with lengthy traffic delays as they enter Black Rock City

WADSWORTH, Nev. (KOLO) – Thousands of burners have been heading down State Route 447 on Monday, and for some, the trip to Black Rock City has been long and challenging.

“We’ve been sleeping here overnight; they kindly hosted us because we couldn’t get in due to the terrible weather,” said James Knight who is visiting from England. “But we’ve all been having a great time hanging out, people from all over the world here in this garage forecourt. It’s been amazing.”

The I-80 Smoke Shop and Campground in Wadsworth has become one of the biggest stops for burners headed out to the remote Pershing County location with people selling clothing and other things burners might need. And the attitudes are still positive despite wait times of 8 hours or more to enter Black Rock City…
