LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada officials are set to give an update Wednesday afternoon on the state’s response to a recent cyber attack that disrupted government systems over the weekend.
On Wednesday, the Governor’s Technology Office, directors of state agencies, and federal partners will host a news conference at 4 p.m. inside the Old Assembly Chambers at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City.
Nevada targeted in cyber attack; state, federal investigation underway
According to the governor’s office, the state first identified a network security incident early Sunday morning. Tuesday evening, the governor’s office announced the state was targeted in a cyber attack and that the incident was under an active state and federal investigation. There was no evidence that any personally identifiable information (PII) had been compromised, according to the governor’s office.
