RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and the start of Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation’s (NNCCF) Know the Gold campaign.
For the campaign, the Reno Arch will light up gold. CEO Brigette Cole and director of grants, Lizzie Dalton, stopped by Morning Break to share details of the event and of the importance of this six-month campaign.
Tuesday’s private event honors NNCCF families and supporters. The Reno Fire Department, Bomb Squad, Councilmembers Brandi Anderson and Devon Reese, and Sheriff Balaam will attend the lighting, as well as the UNR cheerleaders. There will be a big countdown, celebration, a DJ, food trucks, and many picture opportunities…
