“This event has taken on a life of its own over the past 66 years,” said Todd Tuttle, tourism director in Virginia City. “We invite everyone to come experience the races for themselves and make a weekend of it in Virginia City.”
The weekend promises four race shows featuring camels, ostriches, zebras, and emus, with each race offering its own mix of humor and unpredictability. The schedule kicks off with “Hot Camel Nights” on Friday at 5 p.m., offering a locals discount. Saturday features two shows at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a special “Camel Hump on C Street” event at 12:30 p.m. Sunday is Family Day, with free camel rides for the first 100 kids at noon…
