SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – The Sparks Police Department (SPD) is launching its Drone as a First Responder program and is upgrading its drone fleet.
The new addition, dubbed Skydio X-10, is expected to reduce emergency response times and enhance community safety.
“We are the first in Northern Nevada to implement this,” said Sparks Police Chief Chris Crawforth. “Really, what a Drone as a First Responder is, is a docked drone. Which means it is at a stationary location, where the drone is charged, heated, and cooled depending on the weather. It is available to be deployed.”…
