Reno Fire reminding residents to pack a “go bag:” National Preparedness Month

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Northern Nevada is a region that has seen its share of wildfires. That is why being prepared with an evacuation plan is so important.

Reno Fire Department Chief Dave Cochran says the main goal of having a safety plan, is to make sure you’re prepared before disaster strikes.

“Go bags” are a valuable tool to have when wildfires strike. Chief Cochran says to put three days with non-perishable food, water, and medications in the bag. He also says to supply yourself with a few days of clothes, and of course, food and water for your pets…
