The City of Reno is launching its Biggest Little Fall Refresh community cleanup events on various dates across multiple wards. These events provide residents with a free option to dispose of bulky residential waste. The cleanup days allow residents to remove unwanted items and support efforts to maintain the city’s cleanliness, according to the city’s announcement.
“This program is more than just a cleanup, it’s a reflection of our community spirit,” Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve was quoted saying on the city’s website. Emphasizing the importance of involvement, she adds, “These events give every resident a chance to pitch in, declutter, and help us take pride in our neighborhoods. Together, we’re building a cleaner, stronger Reno for everyone.” While offering a space for disposal, the events will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with Waste Management container bins available from 9:00am to 12:00pm, or until they reach capacity.
The cleanups are limited to residential bulky waste, with no acceptance of hazardous or e-waste. Key items prohibited include hazardous waste like paint, pesticides, and certain batteries, electronic waste, and radioactive smoke detectors, among others. Residents interested in full details regarding non-acceptable materials and alternative disposal options can find further information on Waste Management’s website.
