Nevada foster parents face payment issues due to cyberattack on state systems

CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Some Nevada foster parents may be underpaid or overpaid for care for as a result of the cyberattack on state systems last month, according to an email sent earlier this week.

In the email, obtained by News 4-Fox 11, an official with the Nevada Department of Human Services informed parents that the likelihood of parents being overpaid or underpaid is a ‘very real possibility.’

“While we are doing everything in our power to ensure that payments stay on track, inevitably, there will be things that are missed, matches that could not be made in the system, etc., and placements that could not be end-dated in a timely manner since the workers did not have access to the system,” the email said…
