Local health agencies brace for potential vaccination changes as CDC committee meets

RENO, Nev. — Local health agencies across the country are bracing for potential changes to federal vaccine guidance as the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meets Thursday and Friday to discuss several vaccines and vote on new recommendations.

“When they do make any changes, we adjust our standing orders and adjust what we’re giving or offering in our clinic and we just have to wait until those outcomes come out so we know what to do,” Public Health Nurse Supervisor for Immunizations at Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) Victoria Nicolson Hornblower said.
