A jury has found Madelyn Alexis Macias, a 31-year-old from Sparks, Nevada, guilty of bringing methamphetamine into the grounds of High Desert State Prison. The verdict was reached on September 9th.
Macias was convicted of two charges: transporting methamphetamine for the purpose of sale and introducing a controlled substance into a prison. According to the Lassen County District Attorney’s office, on May 11th, 2024, Macias brought approximately one ounce of methamphetamine into the correctional facility.
Lassen County District Attorney Melyssah Rios expressed gratitude for the jury’s decision. “We thank the jury for their attention and deliberation in this matter,” Rios said, “appreciating the danger the introduction of controlled substances like methamphetamine into prisons can pose to correctional staff as well as to the inmates.”…
