SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Sparks community is actively calling on the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) to install a center divide on Pyramid Highway following a recent fatal crash. Concerns have been raised about increased speeding and reckless driving since the highway’s expansion.
A Facebook poll posted by News 4-Fox 11 showed that 94% of 320 respondents support the installation of a center divide. Claire Parker Falconio commented, “We have said it needs a center divide from the beginning. People tend to go freeway speeds through there.” Wendy Hutchinson Clifford added, “It would have already saved two lives.”
The crash earlier this month near Disc Drive resulted in the deaths of two Sparks residents. Nevada State Police suspect impairment and reckless driving as contributing factors, with an unsafe lane change cited as the cause of the deadly crash…
