Man with rifle prompts lockdowns at 3 Reno schools, police confirm no crime committed

Reports of a man armed with a rifle briefly locked down three schools in Reno on Thursday morning.

Officers with the Reno Police Department responded to the 6000 block of Neil Road just before 8:10 a.m. on the report of a man carrying a rifle in close proximity to several schools.

The Washoe County School District placed Smithridge Elementary and Pine Middle School on lockdown and RPD advised Coral Academy to lock down campus due to police activity…
