Suspect arrested in Reno shooting, victim treated at hospital

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A man is behind bars in connection with a shooting that occurred at a residence on North Virginia Street Monday night, according to the Reno Police Department.

Officers with the Reno Police Department responded to a local hospital on the report of a gunshot victim having arrived at the emergency room around 7 p.m. on Sept. 29. At the hospital officers contacted the 46-year-old male victim who told them the 39-year-old suspect, Eddie Lao-Rodriguez, had shot the victim after a brief altercation at Lao-Rodriguez’s residence.

Investigating officers applied for and acquired a search warrant for Lao-Rodriguez’s residence in the 7900 block of North Virginia Street. Reno Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) responded to the residence to serve the warrant at which time Lao-Rodriquez was located and arrested without incident…
