RENO – The sound of wind cutting through the valley breaks the early morning calm as clouds race over the Sierra crest. By sunrise, gusts rattle fences and flags across Reno, and light rain streaks across windshields along I-580 — a sure sign fall’s shifting gears again across northern Nevada.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect through 9 p.m. Sunday, with gusts potentially reaching 45 mph, especially along foothill roads and exposed passes. The National Weather Service in Reno notes a 40% chance of light rain before midday, with snow levels climbing to around 8,500 feet.
