An Oregon man has been charged with murder in the death of a volunteer who was beaten at the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza at the Sparks Marina.
The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon committed against an elderly person against 34-year-old Michael Paulsen, District Attorney Chris Hicks announced Friday.
Paulsen allegedly attacked 65-year-old Michael Hess on Nov. 3 while Hess was cleaning the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza at the Sparks Marina. Surveillance video from the scene allegedly shows Paulsen kicking Hess and striking him in the head repeatedly with a rock, prosecutors said…
