After more than a year back in operation, Reno’s beloved Foodshed Café is temporarily closing its doors, with its last day of service on Monday, November 10.
The closure marks a bittersweet pause for the only eatery in Reno that sources all of its ingredients directly from local farmers, ranchers, and producers — from beef and eggs to tea, sauces, and vegetables. The Café prides itself on using certified organic, seed oil-free ingredients, and avoiding major distributors like Sysco and US Foods.
“We reopened in April 2024 because our members kept asking for it,” the co-op shared. “The Café wasn’t designed to make a lot of money — it was designed to support the local food system and serve truly healthy, nutrient-dense food.”…
