New DUI Court Program in Reno Aims to Improve Road Safety and Support Recovery for Local Offenders

The Reno Justice Court in Nevada has started a Multi-Track DUI Court. This expands its Specialty Court programs to address impaired driving. The program is funded by a $120,077 federal grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety and the U.S. Department of Transportation. It aims to provide supervision and treatment for first and second-time DUI offenders. The goal is to reduce repeat offenses and improve road safety in Reno.

The Multi-Track DUI Court has four tracks. Each track matches the participant’s risk level and needs. Services include treatment plans, education, and monitoring. The program supports Nevada’s Zero Fatalities traffic safety goal and national efforts to reduce impaired driving.
