Changes to upcoming storm, but high Sierra snow is still in the forecast

Snow is still in the forecast on Thursday, but the storm is arriving much later with higher snow levels. The Winter Weather Advisory for the Tahoe Basin now begins at 4pm on Thursday and goes through 7am Friday. The Winter Storm Warning for Mono County begins at 1pm on Thursday for elevations above 9000′. The Winter Weather Advisory for the Tahoe Basin is for elevations above 8000′, where up to six inches of snow could fall. Up to four inches of snow could fall between 7500-8000′. Mono County could see up to a foot of snow above 9000′. Reno will see more wind than rain, but rain is in the forecast late Thursday into Friday.
