RTC floats new tax as revenue dips

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The RTC is proposing new revenue avenues for maintaining public roads.

During a presentation at Wednesday’s Reno City Council meeting, RTC said much of the funds for road work come from a fuel tax which is now seeing a decline as hybrid and electric vehicle ownership increases.

They cite a decline from $185 million in taxable gallons being sold in 2019 to under $175 million sold in 2024…
