Our storm is not over yet, it’s just on pause. It will swing back up to north over the weekend, giving us another chance at rain and snow. A colder low will then move in behind it on Sunday and Monday. The atmospheric river is positioned just to the east of reno, but the moisture will swing back in here by late Saturday. The low itself is still offshore from California, with it’s outer border over the Bay Area. This is why we’ve seen more rain than snow. The cold air is found on the west side of the low which is over the ocean right now. As the low moves northeast, temperatures will drop this weekend. The snow level will drop to lake level by Sunday.
