Reno, NV – Drivers across Northern Nevada are facing slick and hazardous conditions today as early-morning ice formed on bridges, overpasses, and several higher-elevation roads. The Nevada State Police issued a morning advisory around 6:30 a.m., warning commuters to slow down and prepare for rapidly changing highway conditions.

According to Nevada State Police, multiple stretches of roadway developed unexpected icy patches overnight as temperatures dropped near freezing before sunrise. The agency reported especially slick conditions on elevated surfaces, which typically freeze faster than ground-level roads.
