RENO, Nev. (Nevada Athletics) – Nevada Athletics Hall of Famer and 2025 Athletics Distinguished Alumnus Eathan O’Bryant was honored with a proclamation Wednesday by Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and the city council. Wednesday, November 19, 2025 was declared “Eathan O’Bryant Day” for his long-time numerous contributions to and positive impact on the Reno and Northern Nevada communities.
In addition to the proclamation for O’Bryant, the University of Nevada was recognized for its significant impact on the local community and economy, and the City issued a proclamation that November 29, 2025, the date of The Battle for the Fremont Cannon against UNLV at Mackay Stadium (6 p.m. kickoff), would be declared “Paint the Cannon Blue Day” in support of the Wolf Pack. Helping celebrate the proclamation was Wolfie Jr., who was appointed by Schieve as “Mayor for the Day” for the City of Reno.
“Today was such a special day recognizing Eathan O’Bryant for all of his contributions to our community,” said Nevada Director of Athletics Stephanie Rempe. “Eathan’s love for the Wolf Pack, Reno, and Northern Nevada embodies the very best of the University and our alumni. Thank you to Mayor Schieve and the city council for its recognition of Eathan and its support of the Wolf Pack in our upcoming Battle for the Fremont Cannon next week in Nevada’s College Town!”…
