Sparks is getting ready to kick off one of its most beloved traditions. The city’s annual Hometowne Christmas festivities return December 4 through 6, bringing light displays, entertainment, a parade and several road closures around Victorian Square.
Weekend events
Activities begin Thursday, December 4 with the “39 North Pole” opening from 4 to 9 p.m., featuring holiday lights, live entertainment and an outdoor bazaar.
The celebration continues Friday, December 5 with another evening of the 39 North Pole from 4 to 9 p.m. The city’s official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is set for 6:30 to 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 6 is the busiest day of the weekend. The 39 North Pole runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade steps off from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Road closures to know
The city is advising drivers to plan ahead due to multiple closures around Victorian Square.
