Sparks police investigate shooting after Shot Spotter alert

SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — An investigation is underway after a person was shot in Sparks on Monday night.

Sparks Police Department officers responded to the 1900 block of Richards Pl. for a report of a victim of a gunshot wound around 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 1. The firearm discharge was detected by the Shot Spotter system in use by the city.

When officers arrived, they learned the victim had self-transported himself to the hospital and had sustained a gunshot wound. Authorities say the victim received medical treatment at the hospital and is going to survive. The victim’s name has not been released…
