RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Beginning Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, the City of Reno will add a 2.7% service fee for credit and debit card transactions, according to a City of Reno Utility Billing Division email.
This fee will help offset processing costs for card payments, the city said.
It added the City of Reno does not receive any portion of this fee.
“We encourage customers to consider alternative payment methods such as ACH (bank draft), check, or cash, which will remain fee-free,” the email said. “Our commitment remains to provide reliable service while maintaining the highest security and operational standards.”…
