Sparks city officials are considering a plan to reduce the number of lanes on Prater Way between Pyramid Way and Probasco Way. The proposal would take the road from five lanes down to three, making room for new bike lanes in both directions.
According to the city, safety is a big part of the push. Prater Way has been identified as one of the region’s highest crash corridors, with 105 crashes reported between 2019 and 2023. Leaders believe the roadway redesign could help reduce collisions and calm traffic through the area.
