Carson City is not getting a new website, but it will be getting a new domain heading into next year that city officials expect to increase security.
“Carson City will be migrating from the carson.org domain to carsoncity.gov,” according to a news release. “All emails will also be migrating to @carsoncity.gov by Jan. 1.
“The .gov domain is reserved for official U.S. government organizations. These changes aim to avoid confusion, build trust and strengthen public confidence when messages are communicated. The .gov domain has strict federal verification and security standards, reducing the risk of impersonation or fraud.”…
