Sparks City Council discusses bike lane project along Prater Way

Improving both pedestrian and driver safety is the name of the game for Sparks city officials, as they eye big changes to a portion of Prater Way.

During Monday’s meeting, the Sparks City Council heard a joint presentation from the city’s transportation manager and the RTC.

The group’s proposal would bring down the number of driver lanes from five to three, while adding bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.

From 2019 to 2023, between Pyramid Way and Probasco Way, there have been 105 reported crashes…
