RTC seeks public input on northeast connector study amid increasing area traffic

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is seeking public input on their Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study.

“The Northeast Connector is a potential new roadway that would connect Sparks-Spanish Springs area to the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center,” said Dale Keller, Deputy Executive Director for RTC.

The R-T-C held a public meeting to give residents an update on their findings. The transportation commission has been working on the study since February, exploring whether or not it’s feasible to add a connecting corridor in the area. The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, or TRIC, has grown by 300%, according to the study. The growth has also led to an increase in traffic along I-80, by up to 58%…
