(KOLO) – The spirit of giving is alive and well among the IBEW Local 1245 retirees, who recently turned their annual Christmas party into a heartwarming opportunity to support the KOLO 8 News Toys for Tots drive. The group not only collected numerous toys from their members but also presented a substantial $200 check, demonstrating their deep commitment to the community.
Vickie Borst, representing the IBEW Local 1245 retirees, emphasized the group’s motivation. “We made good wages and we’re doing good as retirees being represented by the union in negotiating our wages and our benefits,” Borst stated. “So we feel like we should give back.”
This generosity is part of a continuous effort by the retirees, who host a monthly raffle with all proceeds dedicated strictly to charitable donations.
