RENO, NV (Dec. 24) — I will start by wishing all my readers, sponsors and friends a Very Merry Christmas. Hope it was a great day for all of you, now on to the preview that’s going to be a bit different.
CAR MEETS:
• Only one is on tap and that starts at 10 a.m. Sunday when Sparks Cars & Coffee ends the year with its second meet of the month. Location is by the Starbucks off of Disk Drive.
RACING (4-WHEEL)
• I finally have the schedules so we’ll begin with oval tracks in our region.
- Summit Raceway in Elko begins their season with a Prep & Play Day on April 25. After that the season kicks in and ends on October 3rd.
- Next, as we move west, is Battle Mountain Raceway. Their 2026 season begins on May 22 and ends in early September with the Silver Cup.
- Next is Winnemucca Regional Raceway. First race weekend is April 17/18 and the season ends on the 16/17 of October.
- Lovelock Speedway starts with a test and tune session on March 28 the April 25 is the first race. As usual they help celebrate Frontier Days and the season ends on the 9th and 10th of October
- Rattlesnake Raceway’s first race is the weekend of Apreil 10th & 11th and the Dirt Track Championships, on the first weekend in October ends their season.
- Rattlesnake Raceway has a small dirt oval on the infield where the Outlaw Karts race. The is a practice session on March 28th, first race is on April 11 and the season ends on September 12th with the final points race.
- To the south the Tonopah Speedway also has a schedule that begins on May 23rd with the annual Jim Butler Days race. The season ends the weekend of August 14/15 with the annual Jim Marsh Classic. To see the full schedule please go to www.tonopahspeedway.net and click events.
- To the north Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville starts 2026 on March 21 and April 4 with test & tune sessions. First race is April 25 with the last being on August 29/30 for the Championship Weekend.
