COOS BAY, Ore. – Charges have been filed against a suspect accused of murder in Coos Bay. The incident occurred in the Staples parking lot over the weekend.
Christopher Allen Blodgett, a 50-year-old from Reno, Nev., faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder for the death of David Orr on the afternoon of Dec. 28. Blodgett is also charged with second-degree kidnapping, coercion, fourth-degree assault, and harassment involving a female victim on the same day. Police found Orr deceased in the Newmark Avenue parking lot just before 2 p.m. Officers quickly responded to a report of shots fired.
Within five minutes, they located a vehicle matching witness descriptions at 33rd Street and Vine Avenue. Both occupants were detained, and the alleged shooter was taken into custody. Court documents list Blodgett’s address as out of state, but he appears to have been in Oregon for some time. He was charged with robbery in 2011 and failed to report as a sex offender last year…
