The streets of Pasadena, California, will mark New Year’s Day with the 137th annual Rose Parade, which will include recognition of organ and tissue donors alongside the traditional floral displays. Among those being honored are two Nevada men, Tom Dolan of Reno and Jordan Brister of Las Vegas. According to FOX5 Vegas, both men will be commemorated with floral portraits, known as floragraphs, displayed on the OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade Float.
Tom Dolan, a prominent figure in the automotive industry who built Dolan Auto Group into a leading company, received life-sustaining surgeries in 2016 and later, after his passing in 2024, donated his corneas to restore sight to others. In contrast, Jordan Brister, a young student who died of sudden cardiac arrest following a P.E. class at Amplus Academy in 2023, posthumously donated his organs, eyes, and tissues, saving three lives and providing hope to those navigating the challenges of loss.
The families of Dolan and Brister were hosted by Nevada Donor Network and Palm Mortuaries and Cemeteries at Rose Parade events running from Monday through tomorrow, ensuring their legacies reached the tens of millions of viewers who watched.
