Convicted felon arrested after shots fired call leads to weapons seizure in Reno

RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — Reno police are investigating a Sunday night shooting incident that led to the arrest of a convicted felon and the discovery of multiple firearms and a large amount of marijuana.

Officers were called to the 5700 block of Golden Eagle Drive around 9:40 p.m. on January 4 after several residents reported hearing rapid gunfire and smelling gunpowder in the area. When officers arrived, they found multiple spent shell casings scattered nearby.

As part of the investigation, police noticed muddy footprints outside a nearby home that were later linked to the suspect’s shoes. Officers contacted and detained Jason Baker, and determined he is a convicted felon who had also failed to register, according to police…
