Reno, Nevada – Drivers across western Nevada should prepare for slick roads and sudden visibility drops late tonight as a fast-moving winter system brings bands of snow into the region ahead of the Thursday morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Reno, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from late this evening through early Thursday for the Greater Reno–Carson City–Minden area, the Western Nevada Basin and Range, and parts of Mineral and southern Lyon counties. Snow totals will generally range from a trace to 2 inches, though narrow, higher-intensity snow bands could produce localized amounts up to 4 inches, with higher peaks seeing as much as 6 inches.
