Snowplow crews work to clear roadways of ice and snow after snowfall in the valley

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – With the storm we saw moving through our region on Wednesday night the City of Reno Maintenance and Operations crews have been working hard making sure your roads are clear.

Tim Hendricks, the operations manager for the maintenance and operations for the City of Reno roadways, says that the first step they take it to brine the roads if there is likelihood of snow in the valley.

“A lot of times we’ll brine, we’ll put the brine out on intersections, hills, roads, hills and curves. We try to limit our brine application just because everything in the city goes to the river, so we’re really reducing how much brine we put out and trying to be really more strategic with it,” says Hendricks…
