Sparks police arrest Reno teen in hit-and-run injuring juvenile on electric scooter

Sparks police have arrested an 18-year-old Reno man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a juvenile earlier this week.

According to the Sparks Police Department, officers with the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) located the suspect vehicle on Jan. 14, parked and unoccupied on Summit Sierra Boulevard. The vehicle was seized as evidence.

Investigators later located and interviewed the suspect, identified as Christian Escobar, 18, of Reno. Following the interview, Escobar was taken into custody and booked into the Washoe County Jail on one charge of duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving personal injury or death…
