Carson district attorney wants new justice of the peace seat

Garrit Pruyt, Carson City district attorney, announced Jan. 15 his candidacy for Carson City’s soon-to-be-added third justice of the peace, according to a news release.

“It has been my honor to serve as the district attorney, and I hope to continue to serve the people of Carson City in a new capacity,” Pruyt said. “My experience as district attorney and as a prosecutor for the last 10 years uniquely qualifies me to serve as justice of the peace.”

Pruyt worked in the Carson City District Attorney’s Office since 2015 and was promoted to chief deputy district attorney under Jason Woodbury.
